Easton-

In this sloppy, penalty ridden affair, the Panthers came out on top thanks in large part to multiple forced turnovers and defensive scores.

The afternoon started off with Wilson receiving the opening kick and looked to gain traction as they methodically moved the ball downfield, however the drive was abruptly brought to an end thanks to a pick six by Saucon Valley’s Brady Skuba who picked off the Jaxon Tadayesky pass and raced down the far sideline for the score.   With just under 10 minutes left in the 1st quarter it was Saucon 7, Wilson 0.

Later in the half the Panthers once again found the end-zone, this time thanks to the arm of Braden Rohn who found Shane Kerosetz for the 33 yard pitch and catch to put Saucon up 2 scores with just over 9 minutes until half.

As the half was beginning to wind down, Rohn found younger brother Taylor for a long gain who was then ruled out at the 1 yardline.  Braden cashed in a few plays later, sneaking the ball just across the plane for the score.

On the ensuing Wilson drive, the Panther defense once again came up big with another pick-6, this time it was Saucon’s Hunter Hill to picked off Tadayesky and returned the interception 95 yards for the score.  With just over a minute remaining in the half, Saucon Valley 27, Wilson 0.

In to the 2nd half, Braden Rohn found Thomas Cahill for a 30 yard score with 8:49 remaining in the 3rd quarter.  The Panthers attempt at the 2 point conversion was successful, and pushed the Panther lead to 28-0.

Following this Panther drive, Wilson went on a lengthy punishing drive and thanks in large part to J’Son Johnson, got on the board thanks to some nice pickups on the ground and a 2 yard touchdown run by Johnson.

Later in the half Wilson once again found the end-zone, this time thanks to a great toss by Ryan Bonham to a streaking Jayden Rapoli who took it 63 yards to the house with 8:22 remaining in the game.

A few drives later Saucon’s AJ Sanders finished the scoring on the day with his 25 yard field goal which concluded the scoring for the game.  The final from Easton, Saucon Valley 38, Wilson 13.

After the game I was able to speak with Braden Rohn about his team’s performance and getting back in the win column after a string of losses for the Panthers.

With the victory, Saucon Valley moves to 2-3 on the year and will travel to Catasauqua (3-2) who are fresh off a shutout loss to Notre Dame Green Pond.  With the loss, Wilson drops to 0-4 on the season and looks to pick up a win next week as they travel to Palmerton(1-4) who are reeling from a loss to Northern Lehigh this week.
