This past Friday, Oct. 17, the Seton LaSalle Rebels defeated the Keystone Oaks Golden Eagles 55-0 in a true one sided contest.

In a true-rivalry fashion, the first half had 10 personal fouls and two different players had three touchdowns each.

Keystone Oaks received the opening kickoff, however went three-and-out. Seton LaSalle blocked the punt and Kyren Munnerlyn scooped and scored the game’s first 6 points.

From there that result continued for the rest of the first half.

Munnerlyn took a 15-yard rushing TD on the following drive for Seton securing a 14-0 lead not even seven minutes into the first quarter.

After a Keystone Oaks turnover to Kai Jones, Kymarr Freeman ran a touchdown in on the doorsteps of the endzone helping Seton lead 21-0.

The next two drives both teams punted, however that was the last time Seton LaSalle punted until the second half.

Seton LaSalle’s defense had another interception this time provided by George Hawkins III, but the return was negated due to two-unsportsmanlike penalties on the Rebels.

That didn’t stop Freeman as he rushed the ball 66 yards to the endzone to help take Seton to a 28-0 lead over Keystone Oaks.

The Golden Eagles punted for the fourth time and Matthew Brodzonski didn’t hesitate scoring almost instantly for Seton helping lift the Rebels to a 35-0 lead.

Freeman added one more touchdown to his stat sheet as Seton put together another productive drive to close out the first half leading 42-0 over Keystone Oaks.

Seton LaSalle opened the second half with an 80-yard kickoff return by Munnerlyn taking the score to 49-0 in favor of Seton.

The running clock had come into effect to start the second half. With the help of another Seton LaSalle touchdown by Maurizio Asturi from 20 yards out & a long Keystone Oaks drive that was stopped at the 12 yard line, Seton closed out the game winning 55-0.

The Rebels advance to 8-1 overall and 5-0 in conference play and finish their regular season against Washington High School. While Keystone Oaks drops to 4-5 overall and 4-2 in conference competition and heads on the road to Our Lady of Sacred Heart (OLSH). Both kickoffs are scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
