Trinity Shamrocks vs Northwestern Lehigh Tigers: A trip to Cumberland Valley at stake

Friday night at Don Thomas Stadium at Exeter Twp HS in Reifftown Trinity Shamrocks will face Northwestern Lehigh Tigers in a PIAA State 3A semifinal contest and a chance to earn a spot in the finals at Cumberland Valley next week

The Trinity Shamrocks (11-3) coming off an exhilarating victory last week in a 26-22 win over Neumann-Goretti, by scoring a couple of touchdowns in the waning minutes of that quarterfinal contest. Quarterback Mason Boyer scored with just eleven seconds left in regulation to cap off the comeback.

Boyer comes into the game completing 176 passes on 275 attempts for 2,042 yards and 25 touchdowns and 8 interceptions on the season. He also rushed for 7 touchdowns. Wide-receiver Maddox Jarzynski, is the number one target for Boyer, who has caught 76 passes for 1,044 yards for an average of 13.7 yards per reception and 19 touchdowns in total in 2025. Sophomore running back Brandon Harris leads the ground attack for the Shamrocks with 172 carries for 1101 yards and reached the end zone 9 times. Harris also has 95 tackles on defense

Defensively, DE Marcus Yeager 62 tackles, 38 of those are solo’s, He also leads the team in sacks with 13. Senior DT Samuel Mulbah has 61 tackles and 5 sacks.

Northwestern Lehigh Tigers have been in the championship game each of the last two seasons and are riding a 30 game win streak heading into Friday nights’ contest. The last time the Tigers lost a game was the 2023 State 3A Championship a 38-7 defeat to Belle Vernon. In 2024 they defeated Avonworth,in dramatic fashion, 36-33, with an Eli Zimmerman 10 yard run in overtime to seal the deal.

Senior quarterback Shane Leh has completed 15 of 191 passes for 2,320 yards 28 touchdowns and just 2 interceptions this season. Mason Bollinger caught 38 passes for 529 yards and 6 touchdowns. Michael Lagowy has 40 receptions for 599 yards and 5 scores while Brady Zimmerman hauled in 38 catches for 853 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Braxton Lakatosh led the running game with 116 carries for 1,202 yards and 13 scores. Sophomore Chase Sukanick rushed 106 times for 879 yards and 13 touchdowns. As a team the Tigers gained 3,363 yards on 437 attempts and 56 touchdowns in 2025. Lakatosh also has 11 tackles on defense.

Shane Hulmes leads the defense with 149 tackles,including 70 solo’s and 18 for losses. Lagowy leads the team with six interceptions on the year. As a team the defense has 92 tackles behind the line of scrimmage and have 36 sacks with Hulmes leading the team with 8.
