RED LION — The story for the first 44 minutes and 11 seconds of York High’s game against Red Lion Friday night was about the Bearcats’ defense.

The unit was maintaining York High’s 20-7 lead in the second half, forcing the Lions to turn the ball over in York High territory four times — once by fumble and thrice on downs.

But that was before the last 3 minutes and 49 seconds.

Red Lion quarterback Zach Mentzer and wide receiver Randy Fizer connected for two touchdowns in the closing minutes of the game to pull off an unlikely, fourth-quarter comeback and defeat Division I foe York High, 21-20.
