He also received an invite from Bucknell, and a visit from Duquesne.
Although the Trojans finished the season 5-6, Eagle made an impact as a linemen on both sides of the ball including, 38 tackles and 6 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 2 INTS, a blocked XP, and 4 pass deflections, showing off his strength and versatility.
The Mountain Hawks are putting together a strong 2027 recruitment class that includes Engle, offensive linemen Bowen Gottselig, and QB Cole Stephens, as they look to build for the future, while also looking to win the Patriot League again and get back to the FCS Playoffs in 2026, after being eliminated at home to Villanova 14-7 last season.
PFN: Why did you choose to commit to them before your Sr season?*
Lehigh is the right place for me, and it was the right time to commit. Wanted to lock in my spot there before anyone else could.
PFN: Who was your biggest influence there. , who recruited you?*
The entire coaching staff, especially coach Morita, had the biggest influence one me. Lehigh has been extremely successful recently and have been even better in the run game. Coach Morita is a fantastic coach and the players there are determined to continue their dominance in the patriot league.
PFN: What are they getting in player like you?*
A person who is dedicated to winning and doing anything it takes for the team to win.
PFN: What was the recruiting process like for you?*
Lehigh was the first school to notice my ability as a player and offered me last summer. Since then I got 13 more offers from colleges all around the east coast, but Lehigh proved to be the right spot for me.
PFN: What position were you recruited for?*
PFN: Do you know what you’d like to study?*
I’m looking to study business at Lehigh.
PFN: What role did your parents play in your decision?*
My mom and dad were extremely supportive of me throughout this journey and supported any decision on a college that I made. They supported me on the highest and lowest days.
PFN: What do you think is the most exciting thing about the program?*
They are the back to back Patriot League champions, they have a lot of star level players returning, and they run the ball like no other team in the league.
PFN: What are you most looking forward to while playing for them?*
I’m looking forward to continuing the dominance that they have made the standard at Lehigh.
PFN: Who is the person who most influenced you in your football career?
All coaches I’ve ever had in my career, but the main person who influenced me the most was my offensive line coach Tim Savage. I wouldn’t be nearly as far as I am in life if it wasn’t for him helping me better my craft over the last couple years.
Why do you play football?
I love physically dominating defenders against their will.
What would you do to improve the recruiting process?
Try to allow the recruiting process to slow down, so it doesn’t put as much stress on upcoming recruits to make their decision. With everything being as fast as it is, it builds a lot of stress on an individual who is going to make a decision that will alter their lifestyle forever.
PFN: What is it you’d like all your high school teammates and fans to know about your decision that you might have a hard time saying in person?
I would not be the person I am if it wasn’t for all the support from everyone in our small community at Millersburg and Upper Dauphin.
What are your goals for this coming season?
To win a district title and make a run for states.
Tell everyone why you think football is good for a community
It brings everyone together and is the most entertaining event you will ever watch. Knowing that kids who grew up in a town are out there winning games for the town you live in, especially for small town kids, is something special.
what is your favorite pregame ritual?
The whole Offensive Line group listening to Bring Me To Life by Evanescence.
What is your favorite vacation destination?
Myrtle Beach with my family every year.
