In the first quarter, both teams traded processions until the midway point of the first quarter when Upper Saint Clair ended up in excellent field possession at Canon-McMillan’s thirty-three-yard line after a fumble recovery.

However, Upper Saint Clair missed a field goal attempt and Canon-McMillan took over the ball at their own twenty-yard line. The drive did not last long though as Upper Saint Clair defensive back Randy Yan intercepted it and took it to the house for six.

After Upper Saint Clair’s pick-six, Canon-McMillan quickly drove down the field and capped off the drive with a ten-yard rushing touchdown by sophomore quarterback Ty Jansma to make it a 7-6 game with 7:43 left of the second quarter.

Canon-McMillan kept the pressure on Upper St. Clair thanks to an interception by junior defensive back Beck Shields with four minutes to play in the first half. Upper Saint Clair added three more points in the final minute of the second quarter thanks to junior kicker Jacobo Echeverria.

Upper Saint Clair started with possession in the second half and scored a minute and four seconds in thanks to senior wide receiver Ryan Wilson, who extended Upper Saint Clair’s lead to nine. On Upper Saint Clair’s next possession, junior running back Dante Coury punches the ball into the endzone from the one-yard line to make it a 24-6 game with 5:04 left of the third quarter. After Upper Saint Clair’s touchdown, heavy rain started falling, creating three straight turnovers by both teams.

After the third straight fumble, Upper Saint Clair took the short field and used it to their advantage to score their third touchdown of the quarter.

In the fourth quarter, Upper Saint Clair continued scoring ten more points thanks to Julian Dahlem’s third touchdown of the game and another field goal by Jacobo Echeverria.

Canon-McMillan’s offense continued to struggle in the fourth quarter and punted the ball back to Upper Saint Clair with just over four minutes left of the game. Upper Saint Clair killed the rest of the clock, ending the game with a 41-6 victory over Canon-McMillan.
