Hello and welcome to this week’s installment of What the Heck’s Happening in Districts I & XII this week. Hard to believe folks that we have reached Week 9 of the season and next week brings the final week of the regular season and we head into playoffs. Let us take a look at What’s Happening in Districts I & XII
Garnet Valley Hosting Costume Drive: The Garnet Valley Football program is collecting Halloween Costumes for Nemours Alfred duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington De. You can drop off the costumes up to this Friday at Moe DeFrank Stadium Snack Shack or the Weight room. If you are unable to drop off a costume but would like to donate you may do so by Venmo to Coach Eric VanWyk @Eric-VanWyk
Roman Catholic’s Beals Breaks City Record: In Roman Catholic’s 54-24 victory over Father Judge last week Jr QB SeMaj Beals passed for 369 which raised his career total to 6,927 yards which surpasses former St. Joseph’s Prep and current Syracuse QB Kyle McCord total of 6,887 yards for the All-Time Philadelphia City Record for most yards passing in a career.
O’Hara Welde Becomes School All-Time Passing Leader: In Cardinal O’Hara’s 35-14 defeat to St Joseph’s Prep QB raised his career passing yardage total to 4,021 which surpasses DaShawn Darden’s previous record of 3,812. Welde only a Jr. is in his third season as starter for the Lions.
Chester’s Jalen Harris Sets Delaware County Career Touchdown Pass Record: With his four touchdown passes in Chester’s 64-0 rout of rival Interboro Clippers Jr. Jalen Harris became the Delaware County record holder for Touchdown Passes in a career. Harris currently stands at 78 touchdowns which surpassed former Penn Wood QB Desman Johnson Jr’s 77.
Chester’s Daron Harris Sets Several School Records: Jalen Harris isn’t the only Harris family member to be setting records for the Chester Clippers. In the Clipper’s victory over Academy Park two weeks ago Jalen’s twin Daron hauled in his 21-career touchdown pass which surpassed Dom Toy’s record of 19. On defense, Daron also broke the school’s all-time interception record with his 16th in his career. He also set the record for most special teams touchdowns in a season with 4 this season.
PAC Crossovers: This is the final week of competition in the Pioneer Athletic Conference. Next week the Frontier Division Teams will host the Liberty Division Teams. While matchups won’t be decided till after play this weekend it’s looking very likely that Pope John Paul II will host Perkiomen Valley next weekend for the League Championship.

Friday 7 pm: Downingtown East at Bishop Shanahan: Fresh off their defeat of Downingtown West, Bishop Shanahan will look to make it a sweep of teams that they share a town with when they host the Cougars.
Saturday 2 pm: Owen J Roberts at Spring-Ford
Saturday 8 pm: St. Joseph’s Prep at Roman Catholic: Historic Franklin Field hosts this battle of Catholic League powers with a no shortage of Division 1 Talent on both sides this one promises to be a battle.
