Every lineman’s dream is to score a touchdown. Well Nanticoke senior offensive lineman Ryan Wiaterowski did just that. However, he found the end zone three times. He had two rushing touchdowns and returned an interception 38 yards for a score as the Trojans defeated Lake-Lehman 42-0 in a Wyoming Valley Conference Divsion 2 matchup. “We put him in a position to make plays and like Ryan has done for three and a half years, he makes plays. We couldn’t ask anything more out of him. Trojans head coach Ron Bruza said of Wiaterowski’s performance tonight. “I was super excited, the pick six got me the most excited, you don’t get that from defensive linemen.” Wiaterowski said talking about his performance tonight.

The Trojans’ Mykal Julian started off the game by returning the opening kickoff 86 yards for a touchdown and the two point conversion by Zack Fox made it 8-0 Nanticoke with 11:47 remaining in the first quarter. Lake-Lehman got the ball and looked like they were moving the ball well but a fumble recovered by Nanticoke ended the drive.

The Trojans started with the ball at the Black Knights 49 yard line and the drive ended with a five yard touchdown run by Wiaterowski for a 15-0 lead with 8:08 left in the first. Lake-Lehman went three and out on their next drive. Nanticoke faced a third and 5 and Fox got six yards. Facing another third down, Zack Fox took a handoff 62 yards for a touchdown and a 22-0 lead with 3:18 remaining in the first quarter.

The Black Knights faced a third down and 7. A Lake-Lehman pass was batted in the air by Seth Raymor and intercepted by Wiaterowski who returned it 38 yards for a 29-0 Trojans lead with 1:49 to go in the first quarter. The Black Knights looked to get on the scoreboard and got a first down as Evans found Ben Dowling for an eight yard completion on third and 8 but the drive stalled and were forced to punt the ball away.

Nanticoke started with the ball at their own 27 yard line. Fox gained 13 on the first play of the drive. On a third and 3, Fox went for 31 into Lake-Lehman territory at the 22 yard line. On a third an 16, Fox got 22 yards to the Lehman six yard line. Three plays later, Wiaterowski had his second rushing touchdown from one yard out and his third total touchdown of the game for a 35-0 lead with 6:21 remaining in the second quarter. With 1:33 remaining in the second quarter, Raymor found Jaidyn Johnson for a 35 yard score and a 42-0 lead as we hit halftime. The second half was a running clock and the Trojans cruised through the second half to take a 42-0 victory on the road and to snap their three game losing streak.
