With the chance of the number 1 seed in the District 2/4 6A Subregional, Wilkes-Barre Area needed a big win on senior night. The Wolf Pack defense came up big as they did not allow any second half points and Jake Howe threw a touchdown pass to Achilles Fuentes late in the third quarter to give Wilkes-Barre Area a 21-14 victory on Senior Night. “Our kids stepped up tonight.” Wolf Pack Head Coach Ciro Cinti said. “We made our adjustments at halftime and our players followed the adjustments.”

Crestwood started with the ball and took almost eight minutes off the clock as Matt Bealla scored from two yards out to make it 7-0 Comets with 4:01 remaining in the first quarter. On the opening drive for Wilkes-Barre Area, the Wolf Pack drove down the field and the drive ended with Jake Howe going to Achilles Fuentes from 22 yards out to tie the game at 7.

As the first quarter was about to come to an end, Nate Walsh got a big run to set up the Comets. Walsh then scored from 13 yards out to make it 14-7 Crestwood. Wilkes-Barre Area answered as Howe went to Davon Underwood for gains of 24 and 20 yards to get into the Red Zone. The drive ended with Underwood scoring from four yards out to tie the game at 14. Both teams traded interceptions during the second quarter but were unable to capitalize and the score stayed tied at 14 at halftime.

The game stayed tied at 14 until the Wolf Pack went on a long drive with under a minute to go. Howe found Fuentes again from 13 yards out to give Wilkes-Barre Area a 21-14 lead with 29 seconds remaining in the third quarter ended. Crestwood was unable to capitalize. The Comets had one last chance. A run by Jack Rodgers got Crestwood into Wolf Pack territory. An unsportsmanlike conduct held back the Comets. They faced a fourth and 14 with 2:09 left. Rodgers ended up getting sacked  and Wilkes-Barre Area got the 21-14 victory over Crestwood on Senior Night.
