
Wilson Rolls Over Cedar Crest 63-20

On Friday night, September 19th, Cedar Crest came in ready to finally break Wilson’s long winning streak against them. The last time the Falcons beat the Bulldogs was all the way back in 2001, and they were hoping this would be the year to end the 23-year drought and finally take Wilson down. Wilson had other plans, rolling to a huge 63-20 win. To make the night even bigger, head coach Doug Dahms reached a major milestone by earning his 200th win as a head coach.
Wilson wasted no time making an impact. Cedar Crest received the opening kickoff, but on just the third play of their drive, Wilson’s Chase Herb jumped a pass and came down with a huge interception. The turnover set Wilson up with prime field position, and Correll Akings Rushes In for the first touchdown of the game.
Wilson’s defense kept the pressure on. On Cedar Crest’s next possession, the Bulldogs pass rush forced an off-balance throw, and EJ Brownback Is able to Intercept it and take it all the way for a touchdown. Thats his 3rd Pick 6 in 5 games. Wilson 14 Cedar Crest 0
The Momentum shifted when Cedar Crests Isaiah Zimmerman broke free for a stunning 65-yard touchdown run, cutting Wilson’s lead in half. The energy carried over to the defense, and moments later, Mason Young’s pass was intercepted and returned all the way for another score. what looked like a runaway game was tied at 14
Things shifted again when Mason Young launched a deep ball to Elijah Dean, who came down with it for a huge touchdown, putting Wilson back on top 21–14. The Bulldogs’ defense came alive after that, forcing a quick stop and handing the ball back to their offense. Jaiden Carpenter made the most of the opportunity, finding the end zone to stretch the lead. Not long after, Correll Akings powered in for another touchdown,
Wilson wasn’t done yet. Young, under heavy pressure, escaped the rush and threw to Eli Dean in the end zone to make it 42–14.
Cedar Crest tried to fight back as Zimmerman picked up big yards on the ground, eventually setting up a touchdown to trim the score to 42–20.
That would be the last time the Falcons found the end zone. Wilson closed the night in dominant fashion, piling on 21 unanswered points to seal a commanding 63–20 victory
