Wyoming Area goes to 3-0 with a big win over Western Wayne

Wyoming Area’s defense looked like they were on a mission. The defense pitched a shutout and quarterback Jack Gravine had four total touchdowns as the Warriors took a 50-0 victory over Western Wayne. “Right from the beginning, we played really well. We have really big time players of defense.” Said Wyoming Area head coach Randy Spencer.

After Wyoming Area forced a third and out on the Wildcats’ opening drive. It didn’t take long for Trustin Johnson to find the end zone. He got runs of 13 and 16 before scoring from one yard out to make it 7-0 Warriors with 9:07 remaining in the opening quarter. The score remained the same through out the reminder of the first quarter. First play of the second quarter, Gravine found Luke Kopetchny from 30 yards for a 14-0 Wyoming Area lead. With under two minutes until halftime, Gravine scored from 28 yards out to make it 21-0 with 1:58 in the second quarter. After the Warriors defense got a quick stop. Wyoming Area got the ball at the Western Wayne 35. It took three plays as Gravine found Kopetchny for the second time in the quarter from eight yards out to make it 28-0 with 54 seconds until halftime.

Wyoming Area cruised through the second half. Gravine scored from 53 yards out to make it 35-0. Nick Ciampi scored from 36 yards out to make it 43-0 with 2:54 left in the third. To end the scoring, Nick Kondrosky scored from one yard out to make it 50-0 and that was the final score. Wyoming Area improved to 3-0 on the season and will play Lakeland next week. Western Wayne goes to 1-2 and plays Crestwood at home next week.
