The Pennsylvania Football News releases it’s state rankings every Sunday night. Here are the new Class 4A & 3A rankings after Week 1:
Class 4A
Bishop McDevitt was upset by 5A Red Land and that sent them down a couple spots, but it was hard to put them below Berks Catholic and Susquehanna Twp as the Crusaders are still the District 3 favorites. No. 1 Cathedral Prep and now No. 3 Imhotep Charter had easy debuts in 2016. South Fayette, in their move to a larger classification, beat a very solid Class 3A Central Valley team.

Class 3A
A lot of teams we mentioned in our preseason rankings and honorable mentions are already on the outside looking in. Wyomissing was shocked by a Pottsville team that has won only two games the past three season. So, the Spartans fell out of the rankings along with honorable mentions Scranton Prep, Forest Hills and Karns City all lost and also fell off the list. Also, looking forward to this week’s matchup between No. 1 Aliquippa and No. 2 Beaver Falls
