Who is your favorite sports star and why?
Dwayne Wade, he’s not a football player but I have always looked up to him. His battles with Kobe and his work ethic have always inspired me to work harder even when the odds are against you. He wasn’t put on the best team and wasn’t given the best teammates compared to the other stars in the league, but he managed to constantly lead his team back into the playoffs year after year. Even when he wasn’t given much attention out of high school and committed to Marquette he pretty much turned that school into a powerhouse and to think that he wasn’t a highly regarded prospect gives hope.
Why do you play football?
It was an escape. I grew up a bigger kid and I was lost and didn’t know what to do with myself. Then that first hit at my first practice turned into a passion. I love going out to practice and being able to play with other guys I consider family and to be under the bright lights of Friday night to bring a community together.
What sports movie would you watch every day if you had to pick one and why?
Facing the Giants, for more of the same reasons I consider Dwayne Wade my favorite sports star. You can be knocked down and told your inferior, but your never out of it if you keep trying and desire to improve.
If your mom and dad are screaming at you from the stands, what is it they usually yell?
“There you go Five Four” my dads favorite line
