Jemel Williams is picks Albany
2026 defensive lineman Jemel Williams has announced his commitment to Albany University. Williams has a huge presence on a very talented La Salle defense. He is strong and can get by any lineman with great finesse and skill. He is very good in both the run and pass rush and is the focal point of the La Salle defensive line. Occasionally, Coach Brett Gordon will line him up at full back and let him punch in a goal line run. With the Explorers in his junior season Jemel racked up 53 tackles, 5.5 sacks, along with a forced fumble. He made both the all Catholic first team and all state second team and was a key piece in La Salle’s catholic league championship.
Williams had plenty of opportunities at the division one level. A few of his offers included Morgan State, Rhode Island, and Old Dominion. He also had some interest from Syracuse where he competed at a camp. Overall, the Great Danes were the best fit for him. In his final season for the Explorers Jemel will anchor the La Salle defense and build on last year’s Catholic league championship.
