One of the Philadelphia Catholic League’s best, La Salle College High School’s 6 ‘3 quarterback Gavin Sidwar has pledged his commitment to Rutgers University. The three star QB held 10 notable division one offers, with Virginia Tech and Maryland also being seen as favorites for rising junior.
As a sophomore with the Explorers, Sidwar passed for 29 touchdowns in a competitive red division. The Glenside native prevailed through one of the toughest schedules in the state last season with contests against 6A champion St. Joseph’s Prep, Roman Catholic, Calvert Hall, and Malvern Prep. Sidwar will now join Upper Dublin grad Colin O’Sullivan who will be heading his junior season when the La Salle product makes his way to New Brunswick in 2026. The two Philly products are joined by Ajani Sheppard ‘27 and AJ Surace ‘28 who will help make for a competitive QB room upon Sidwar’s arrival.
