Yesterday via twitter Warwick defensive lineman Nick Coomer made a decision on his future. The 6-4, 285 pound senior announced he will continue his academic and football career at Delaware.

We caught up the him and asked him about his commitment:

Why did you choose The Blue Hens?

I choose the blue hens because it feels like home when I’m there and the coaching staff is a group of really great people.

Who was your biggest influence at Delaware, who recruited you?

Coach Belin was the biggest influence I believe and think the same way he does so we really got along.

What do your parents think of your decision?

My parents we’re 100% in support of my decision and think I’m making the best choice for me.

What are they getting in player like you? What position will you play?

They’re getting a D-lineman that can move off the ball. I’m going to be on the defensive line.

Why commit early and Do you know what you’d like to study?

I just committed because I knew what I wanted and Delaware checked of all of those things so it was a perfect fit and place to commit.  I plan on majoring in criminal justice

What do you think is the most exciting thing about Delaware University?

The most exciting thing is that I feel like the Delaware football program keeps rising and is going to have big things coming our way.

How will this affect your play for your senior season?

It will let me focus on my senior season more that the recruiting process is over so I can do my best and focus on that in my last high school season.
