The Panthers of Upper St. Clair played host to Canon-McMillan, defeating them by a score of 21-10. Canon-Mac began the night on offense, moving the ball down the field thanks to a 67-yard catch-and-run from #7 Roman Cimarolli, but was unable to score after #4 Andrew Gaither recovered a fumble on the 2-yard line.
The scoring began in the second quarter, with the Big Macs striking first off a 46-yard field goal from #3 Rhys Maentz. #6 John Banbury got the Panthers on the board with a 2-yard rush, making the score 7-3 after a successful PAT from #89 Cam Smith. Upper St. Clair went into the half leading 14-3 after Luca Coury punched it in from 1 yard out.
Dual-threat QB #15 Josh Snyder put the Panthers up 21-3 with a 12-yard touchdown run, and Canon-McMillan closed out the scoring with a 5-yard touchdown pass from #1 Ty Jansma to #0 Luke Sohyda.
Despite the loss, Roman Cimarolli had a strong performance, racking up 8 catches on 9 targets for 177 yards.
With the win, Upper St. Clair moves to 3-0 and will be on the road to take on 1-2 Chartiers Valley. Canon-McMillan drops to 2-1 and will host 2-0 Seneca Valley.
