Feels good to be back! If you told me last year after walking off the field after the Downingtown West-Central Dauphin State Semi-Final last December that I wouldn’t have another report till mid October I would have told you were crazy, but welcome to the COVID 19 world we are in. Luckily District 1 is back and well part of District 12 is back so join me every week has we take a look at What’s Happening my little area of Pa. Fast Start In the Chest Mont

The Chest Mont League kicked off their season last Friday and two games saw the opening kickoffs returned for touchdowns. West Chester Rustin’s Dayshawn Jaocbs returned the opening kickoff 98 yards against Unionville. Sun Valley’s Antonio Rivera returned it 88 yards against Great Valley.

For Rivera and his Vanguard teammates it was an emotional moment has they were playing their first game since the passing of teammate Tazuan “Taz” Thomas who tragically passed in July in automobile accident. Rivera was Thomas’s best friend. Jacobs would add another kickoff return of 90 yards in the Knights 35-27 loss to the Indians

Central League Returns

Beyond the Field

150 Seniors from Schools who have lost their fall season will have the opportunity to showcase their skills to college coaches at a combine being hosted by the Maxwell Football Club,Ertz Foundation and ODAAP.

 

Pope John Paul II and Pottsgrove season to begin

After having their schedule game postponed last Friday night because of COVID concerns Pope John Paul II Golden Panthers and Pottsgrove Falcons will finally get their seasons started this weekend. The Falcons will host the Upper Merion Vikings who also will be playing in their first game of the season. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 pm at Pennypacker Field. The Golden Panthers will Pottstown Trojans Saturday at 1 pm.

Games of the Week

LaSalle vs St. Joseph Prep Saturday 7pm at Bensalem
While spectators wont be permitted entry this game should be another chapter in the storied rivalry of these two Catholic League Powers

Downingtown West at Coatesville Saturday 7:30 pm
The two teams split last seasons two matchups.

Upper Dublin at Souderton Friday 7 pm
Methacton at Springford Friday 7 pm
