“Last season, Blaine was our team leader in tackles, with 89, he had 7 TFL’S, 3 sacks and an interception. Blaine is in charge of all of the defensive calls. He is our coach on the field. Blaine really has a nose for the football, doesn’t miss tackles and is one of the most consistent linebackers we have had here at NWL in a long time.”

Let’s get to know a little more about Blaine:
Why do you play football ?
I play football mainly because of my brother. When I was younger, I would always watch him play and be super fascinated on how the game works. When I got old enough to play flags, I fell in love with the game and I’ve played it ever since.
Who is your favorite sports star and why ?
My favorite sports star is Jalen Hurts. It is Jalen Hurts because he has a great work mentality and will do anything to win for his team.
Do you have a favorite play you remember the most ? Explain:
My most favorite play is the final play in our District Championship game. We were backed to our own 10 yard line and North Schuylkill had 4 downs to punch it in. It came down to fourth down and they went for a pass and I was able to bat the ball down, which ensured our victory.
What was last year’s season like for you ?
Last season was really good for us, we won our league and districts and were able to clinch a State playoff birth for the first time in over 10 years.
Who is the best player you have ever lined up against ?
The best player I went against was Shawn Battle from Neumann Goretti, he is a four star cornerback going to Boston College.
What stadium, (HS/College/Pro) would you love to visit for a game ?
I would most like to visit Lincoln Financial Field because, that’s where the Eagles play and they are my favorite team.
What is your favorite Pro Sports team(any sport) ? Explain:
The Philadelphia Eagles are my favorite team because they are my hometown team and I’ve grown up watching them.
What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why ?
My favorite game I watched was the Eagles winning their first Super Bowl in franchise history.
What sports movie could you watch every day if you had to pick one, and why ?
I would watch Remember the Titans because it shows great team work and adversity in it.
Name one thing you’d love to do in football that may never happen ?
Go out for a fade route at the end of a game to win it all.

What is your most embarrassing sports moment ?
My most embarrassing sports moment is snapping the ball over my QB’S head leading to a touchdown for the other team.
When you aren’t playing, practicing, or training for sports, what is your go to activity, and why ?
I am usually hanging out with my friends because they always make it a really fun time.
What is your favorite play to run ?
My favorite play to run is a MLB blitz, because I get a free run at the QB.
Which one, Sheetz, Wawa, or Rutters ? Explain:
My favorite is Wawa because, it is the closest to me and it has the best food.
What is your favorite vacation destination ?
My favorite vacation destination is Yosemite, because it was really neat to see all of the mountains and waterfalls.
Name one thing in life(NOT SPORTS RELATED) you would like to achieve:
I would like to graduate college with a degree in Engineering and to get started on a job right away.
Location you think would be the best place to live(ie: island, mountains, city, etc) ? Explain why:
I would want to live in the mountains because I love the snow and being able to ski nearly all year round sounds super fun.
