At 6-6, 240 pounds he’s a target most college coaches dream their quarterbacks would have. Yesterday one of those coaches had their dream come true as Lower Dauphin TE made his choice to play for the Blue Hens of Delaware. We caught up with him to ask him about his choice:

WPA: why did you choose The Blue Hens?

Will: I chose the Blue hens because with the commitmen from the university to the football program and the success of the new coaching staff in their past the program is bound for success sooner rather than later

WPA: who was your biggest influence at Delaware, who recruited you?

Will: Coach Campbell (aka coach soup) was my area recruiting coach and the TE coach Reihner both were in contact with me and they made me feel needed not just wanted or another player to fill a roster spot and sitting down with them talking watching film I just think we clicked and I’m excited to learn from them.

WPA: what do your parents think of your decision?

Will: My parents are excited they see it not only as a great fit for me for the next 4 years but with the scholarship and the opportunities the university is providing for me to be a place that will positively influence the next 40 years of my life and get me a head start in the “real” world

WPA: what are they getting in player like you? what position will you play?

Will: They are getting someone who is going to be accountable on and off the field and is going to strive to be the best I can. I think On the field i bring leadership qualities when needed and can just be a hard nosed player who is going to do what they want me to

WPA: why commit early? Do you know what you’d like to study?

Will: I’m going to play TE (idk what else to say for this one) I committed early because just going other places I never got that same feeling about the university and as recruiting has slowed a little it’s a place I can see myself for the next 4-5 years.

I think I’m going to major in either finance or business management and if I play my cards right might be able to get a masters before I leave

WPA: What do you think is the most exciting thing about Delaware University?

Will: Most exciting thing about the university for me would be the huge support they have behind the football team drawing in upwards of 15k a game is no small feat for a FCS school. And also being able to compete for a national championship is something the smaller FBS schools just can’t realistically offer

WPA: How will this affect your play for your senior season?

Will: I don’t think it will affect the way I play at all this season I have the weight of recruiting off me shoulders so there’s no need to impress anyone or do more than needed. Just focus in on doing my part making myself and my teammates better and trying to lead our team to win some football games this year
