Coach Van Fleet says “Tyler is amazing player and person. He is a joy to work with as he is truly another coach on the field of play. His intellect sets him apart from any player I have ever worked with. Tyler Gee is entering his senior year as a two time all state qb. He is a cousin to two other qb’s who were all state in Loyalsock with Kyle Datres and Stephen Stopper. He is looking to break every record in our school’s history this year”
LET’S GET TO KNOW TYLER
Why do you play football?
I love the game and playing with my teammates!
It’s gameday! What are you looking forward to the most?
Throwing that first touchdown pass and getting into a rhythm.
Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?
Jalen Hurts because he is able to command an offense both with his arm and legs. He’s also a leader of the entire team and does everything he can to win.
Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:
I threw a deep post route to Jaylen Andrews last year against Williams Valley as I was getting hit by a defensive lineman. It was pretty cool watching him catch the ball in the end zone while I was laying down.
What was last years season like for you?
It was a new challenge because I was expected to perform at a higher level after an all state sophomore year alongside Davion Hill and Rian Glunk. We had some early struggles, but we hit our stride and got back to being a great team by mid season. In the end, it was frustrating not winning the district championship for our school, but I was thankful to be a part of a great group of guys who won 11 games for the first time in 15+ years.
What are your goals for this coming season?
Win the district championship, make it to the state finals, and become 3A Player of the Year.
Who is the best player you ever lined up against?
Carson Pearsing
What stadium, HS/college/pro would you love to visit for a game?
App State
What is your favorite Pro team, any sport?
Eagles
What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?
Penn State vs Ohio State when Penn State upset Ohio State with the blocked kick and return touchdown.
What sports movie would you watch every day if you had to pick one and why?
Remember the Titans
If your mom and dad are screaming at you from the stands, what is it they usually yell?
Let’s go Ty!
Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?
Catch a game winning touchdown pass as a receiver.
Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?
Kyle Datres, he’s my cousin and was the best athlete to come out of Loyalsock. He was a great leader and dominated games in every sport he played no matter the competition.
Name a sport you’d love to play but can’t:
Tennis, I loved the sport when I was little and got pretty good. Also, my mom played at a high level in college, so my genes would’ve been there.
What is your most embarrassing sports moment?
Airballing a 3 pointer opening night of basketball against Selinsgrove.
Is there anyone in your family, besides your parents, you could consider your biggest fan? Who, Why?
My brother Derek. He always tries to make it to my games wherever they are at. Somehow he ends up on the sidelines most times.
When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?
Listening to music, playing video games with my friends or watching a Netflix show. Lately, I have been watching Suits a lot on Netflix.
What is your favorite football memory to date?
Running into the end zone my sophomore year against Bloom for my first varsity score ever.
What is your favorite play to run?
RPO
What scares you the most?
Regretting not doing something when I’m really old nearing death.
Music of choice:
Country, but I listen to all genres
What was your favorite gift as a little boy? Why?
Electric Razor Scooter, it was the hottest new thing.
What restaurant is your go to when you need a big meal?
Hana, the sesame chicken and rice.
What is your favorite vacation destination?
Any beach
