What does your offense need to improve on from last year?
We need to run the ball more effectively. The boys are in weight room (4) days a week getting stronger and faster. In our conference you must be able to run the ball. We want to be more physical up front. We have (3) quality linemen with some experience. We’re looking for 3 or 4 more guys to step up and give us some depth on the line.
What does your defense need to improve on from last year
Our defense improved each week last season. With our injuries last season, a lot of younger players got a chance to play. We hope that pays dividends this year. Our LB’s and secondary are experienced and aggressive. We hope that we can find (2) defensive tackles to compliment Joe Belier and Josh Little at Defensive Ends.
What are your overall thoughts on this years team?
I really like our returning skill guys. We got hit with the injury bug last season, but that gave our young players varsity reps. We hope that pays off this year. We have the potential to be explosive at the receiver position. Dominic Dipaolo will be moved around. He will take snaps at QB, Slot, and Wideout. Isaac Thomas and Josh Little should give us a physical presence at the RB position. The key is up front. We lack numbers on the line right now. In Joe Beiler, Ian McGhee, and Rudy Lanzendorfer, we have (3) experienced and hard working linemen, If we can get 3 or 4 more guys to step up and give us quality minutes and add depth we can be competitive. The WestPac is historically a very physical conference and this year will be no different. There are no “off weeks” on our schedule.
