Bald Eagle Area @ Penns Valley

#3 Bald Eagle Area will travel to #2 Penns Valley for a D6AA Semifinal game this Friday.  This game is a rematch from a game on 9/16 where Bald Eagle Area won 42-27.  Penns Valley had a slim lead going into the 4th quarter (21-20), but Bald Eagle scored 22 in the 4th.  In that game Bald Eagle ran for 321 yards.  Senior RB Tre Greene ran for 184 yards on only 7 carries with 2 TDs.  Sophomore QB Carson Nagle was 19-27 for 240 yards with 3 TD and 0 INT passing.  Nagle hit 7 different receivers on the night.  Bald Eagle Area also held Penns Valley to 79 yards rushing.  For Penns Valley, Junior QB Jackson Romig was 15-23 for 169 yards with 1 TD and 2 INTs passing.  Junior RB Ty Watson rushed 15 times for 49 yards and 2 TDs and caught 4 passes for 73 yards and 1 TD.  You can check out Billy Splain’s game recap and Jeff Jodon’s photo gallery here: The Bell stays with Bald Eagle .

Last week, Bald Eagle beat Bellwood-Antis 45-19.  Nagle had a great game through the air.  Nagle was 20-25 for 401 yards with 5 TDS and 0 INTs.  Junior WR Camron Watkins had 6 receptions for 174 yards and 2 TDs.  Senior WR Elliott Splain had 6 receptions for 114 yards and 1 TD.  Tre Greene and Junior Eric Clark had 2 sacks each.  Senior DB Mikey Snyder had 3 INTs.  You can read Billy Splain’s game recap here: BEA dominates Bellwood to earn a rematch with Penns Valley .

Penns Valley beat Mount Union 55-7 last week.  This game was tied early and then Penns Valley led by Romig and Watson went on to score 48 unanswered points.  Romig was 8-11 for 241 yards with 4 TDs passing and added 4 rushes for 55 yards.  Watson had 22 rushes for 160 yards with 1 TD.  Watson also had an 85-yard TD receiving.  You can read Jason Confer’s game recap and photo gallery here: Penn Valley throttles Mount Union to advance

This semifinal game should be great.  The last time these teams played it was a lot closer than the final score shows.  These teams are well balanced on offense with Nagle and Greene for BEA and Romig and Watson for Penns Valley.
