Coach Burk says “He’s a great route runner with ridiculous hands. He’s a work out machine with a great frame and has a huge desire to be the best at everything”.

LET’S GET TO KNOW RYAN

Why do you play football?

I’ve always had a love for football, growing up and watching games just made me fall in love more and more, there’s just a bond you form with the dudes around you, you just can’t get playing anything else.

It’s gameday! What are you looking forward to the most?

Running out in front of everyone screaming and yelling. It’s a moment like no other, it’s unexplainable until you experience it yourself.

Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?

Davante Adam’s, the way he can set up a db to create spacing for him and his Qb to throw him the ball is just amazing watching his routes and how he addresses the game of football is just on a different level.

Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:

My first touchdown my sophomore year in the first game against Springdale, I ran a whip route and caught it through someone. It was a moment I won’t forget.

What was last years season like for you?

It was a good year all around for everyone. I played alright last year, I can always improve. It brought out the many things I need to work on as a player.

What are your goals for this coming season?

I set lofty goal for myself every year, but for this year with the dudes we have, many of the goals I set for myself seem very achievable.

What stadium, HS/college/pro would you love to visit for a game?

I would have to say a Virginia Tech game when they come running out to enter sandman, I think that is the coolest thing, seeing 70,00 people jumping around yelling.

What is your favorite Pro team, any sport?

The Pittsburgh Steelers

What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?

I’d have to say the 2017 Super Bowl with the Patriots and the falcons, I was a big Tom Brady guy so I liked the patriots, watching what they did in the Super Bowl was crazy, coming back from 25 in the second half is joust stuff you couldn’t believe that would happen.

What sports movie would you watch every day if you had to pick one and why?

Remember the Titans, it’s a great movie to watch.

If your mom and dad are screaming at you from the stands, what is it they usually yell?

It’s never one yelling at me, maybe a “let’s go!!!” Or “come on!!” in a not so inspiring way, but my dad will give me a nod because he knows that I know what I got to do to change what I’m doing wrong, he has a lot of faith in me and knows that I will be able to fix it on the fly.

Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?

A long touchdown in the final seconds that win the game. I feel like that moment would be something special.

Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?

I would have to say my dad, he has always told me if you start something make sure you finish something no matter what it is. If you are doing something make sure you do it the best, don’t do something half way. He has always wanted the best for me. He would be someone I’d want to be like.

Name a sport you’d love to play but can’t:

I feel like lacrosse would be fun to play.

What is your most embarrassing sports moment?

Is there anyone in your family, besides your parents, you could consider your biggest fan? Who, Why?

My Pops, he lives a couple hours away but he tries like no other to get to my games and when he does you know exactly who he is rooting for. I’ll be on the field at football games or baseball and everyone yelling but there’s one guy yelling that you can hear so clearly, “Way to go Ry” and “That’s my Grandson” and I would say he’s my biggest fan, he’s the best!

When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?

I love to go fishing and hunting, it’s where I can just go and relax.

What is your favorite football memory to date?

I don’t really have a favorite memory, but when. You cant narrow it down to one, it’s probably a good thing.

What is your favorite play to run?

Wouldn’t be a play but more of a route, definitely a comeback route, you can set the db up in any way you want to, and you can sell it with many things but it’s almost always open.

What scares you the most?

Snakes, I don’t rock with snakes

Music of choice:

I’m a big country music guy

What was your favorite gift as a little boy? Why?

It was probably the first baseball bat that I got for my birthday

What restaurant is your go to when you need a big meal?

Ichiban

What is your favorite vacation destination?

Probably the Beach
