LET’S GET TO KNOW ANDREW

Why do you play football?

I only play football because I like the rush it gives me.

What’s your current GPA?

I have a 4.2 GPA currently.

What schools have offered or expressed interest in you so far?

No schools have offered yet but some D2 & D3 schools have contacted me.

What do you plan to major in when enrolled in college?

I plan on majoring in civil engineering or something statistics based.

What is your favorite class?

Currently it’s College Algebra

Who is your favorite athlete of all-time?

My favorite all-time athlete is Mike Tyson because of his mentality or Clay Matthews because I’m a Green Bay fan and his hair is prestigious.

What’s your favorite moment in HS thus far?

My favorite moment of my HS career so far is putting the game against north hills away through ground superiority.

What was the 2022 season like for you?

The 2022 season was a test to see if I’m ready to take the next step in my football career and I feel I passed it. I didn’t pass it as well or defined as I wanted to though.

2023 individual & team goals?

My individual goals are to be named All-Conference on both sides of the ball and an All-WPIAL title on my name for defense. The goal for the team is a state title.

All-time favorite football game to watch?

I like watching the professionals play the best because I can learn the most from their moves & ways of beating offensive linemen.

Favorite meal?

My favorite meal is hamburgers & potato salad.

Favorite play to run?

On the offensive side of the ball my favorite play to run is outside zone because once you get the defensive linemen’s feet moving it’s easier for a pancake especially if I have a tight end or halfback combo-blocking with me.

Hobbies outside of sports?

I fish, hunt, go on hikes, go on walks, lift, carve/whittle, go boating, wade in cricks, ski occasionally, play other sports & hang with family.

What’s your biggest fear?

I am most scared of heights.

Who is the most inspirational person in your life?

My mom inspires me the most because I see how hard she works on her job, then I see her working harder than me to try to find a good fit for me in college, then she cooks, cleans, and washes, then she travels for work and comes back, and then takes care of my brothers and all their stuff as well but she has always found the energy to care. I want to be that kind of person when it’s all said and done.

Pre-game music that helps you get hyped for the game?

I listen to Lil Baby’s stuff because his music gets my adrenaline going.

Favorite teammate & why?

Austin Kerns because we are on the same page most the time and helps me lead the team.

Did you play little league football?

I started playing in middle school.

What should people know about Franklin Regional the players, school and coaches?

People should know that we, as a team have been underperforming in the playoffs in particular the last 2 years. I’m going to do everything in my power to put an end to that this year.

If you could meet and talk to anyone famous (dead or alive) who would it be and why?

I would want to meet Genghis Khan because he took over a lot of land and I find him kind of interesting.
