Head Coach John Ruane said, “Dom Smith is a physical, instinctive MLB who gets downhill and makes a ton of tackles. Great hips and feet, covers a lot of ground. Has put on significant size and weight. Loves football. Brings same mentality to practice as Friday Nights. He will be all over the field in 2023.”

Why do you play football? 

I enjoy getting to play with all my friends and all the challenges that come with the game. 

Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?

Luke Kuechly because of his physical play style and the way he prepared for games by breaking down film.

Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain: 

Making a tackle on the kickoff team late fourth quarter before the game got sent into overtime.

What was last year’s season like for you? 

It was fun playing defense this past year but also physically and mentally challenging.

What are your goals for this coming season? 

Help the team to the championship this year. 

My personal goal would be getting 100 tackles 

Who is the best player you ever lined up against? 

Ryan Palmeri, he ran downhill but also had the speed to get away from you

What stadium, HS/college/pro would you love to visit for a game?  

I would like to go to a Bills game and have the chance to witness Bills mafia.

What is your favorite Pro team, any sport? 

Pittsburgh Steelers

What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why? 

Pitt vs Clemson when Pitt upset the number 2 team in the nation in 2016 on Chris Blewitt’s game winning field goal.

What would you do to improve the recruiting process? 

Reaching out coaches on twitter and being able to communicate early with them.

Describe what the perfect teammate is.

 It is someone who will put the team first and will do anything in their power to help the team win.

Tell everyone why you think football is good for a community. 

It brings everybody in the community together.

Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen? 

Kick a PAT

Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY? 

My mom and dad are always pushing me to be the best I can be on and off the field. 

What is your favorite practice drill? 

Inside run period

What is your least favorite practice drill?

I don’t really have one

Preseason Two a Days are: 

Are very competitive but also fun bringing the team closer together 

Is there anyone in your family, besides your parents, you could consider your biggest fan?  Who, Why? 

I would have to say my grandpa. He has been coming to my games my whole life.

When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what activity do you go to and why?

Hanging out with friends and playing spikeball. 

What is your favorite football memory to date? 

Winning the state championship my freshman year.

What is your favorite play to run? 

Running any type of blitz on defense 

Is a hot dog a sandwich?

No

Best thing you ever got from a teammate? Why?

Advice from all our past linebackers the last two years that I use on the field. 

Best Pizza topping? 

Pepperoni

What is your favorite vacation destination? 

Myrtle beach.

Do you remember what the first football game you saw was? 

Super Bowl 45 when the Steelers lost against the Packers.
