Let’s get to know a little more about Mike:

Why do you play football ?
I just love everything about the game. I kind of always wanted to play football, I like everything about it, all my friends play the game and it’s something I’ve just always loved.

Who is your favorite sports star and why ?
Deon Sanders, I just loved the way he played, and his swag.

Do you have a favorite play you remember the most ? Explain:
I returned an interception for a pick-6 in the WPIAL Championship at Steelers stadium.

What was last year’s season like for you ?
Last year was a pretty fun exciting season, winning the WPIAL Championship, getting to the State Championship, it didn’t end up how we wanted it to but it definitely was a pretty season for sure.

What stadium, (HS/College/Pro) would you love to visit for a game ?
Ohio State would be pretty cool.

What is your favorite Pro Sports team(any sport) ? Explain:
I like the Seahawks.

What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why ?
The WPIAL Championship when we beat Bishop Canevin, that was a pretty exciting game, and how everyone from the community was there.

What sports movie could you watch every day if you had to pick one, and why ?
It definitely doesn’t get much better than the “ROCKY” movies, all the training, the soundtrack, I just love everything about them.

Name one thing you’d love to do in football that may never happen ?
Hurdling someone for a touchdown.

Name a sport you’d love to play but can’t:
Golf

What is your most embarrassing sports moment ?
Forgetting my shoulder-pads on game night.

Tell us something about playing for Union Area that stands out, that others may not know ?
We have a good community, the people come out to support us, we may not have 55-60 kids, or the biggest kids but, we have kids that play their hardest game to game and that’s what I feel stands out.

When you aren’t playing, practicing, or training for sports, what is your go to activity, and why ?
Hanging with friends, hanging with family, I also do like to go fishing a alot.

Which one, Sheetz, Wawa, or Rutters ? Explain:
Sheetz, it just is my go to place, especially at a game on Friday night.

What is your favorite vacation destination ?
Florida, I like the beach, the weather, and I have some family down there.

Tell us something that you have a fear of ?
I honestly don’t like Spiders.

NBA, NHL, MLB, NCAAF, NFL, Which league is the best and why ?
NCAAF, it’s just exciting !

Best Video Game Console(XBox/Playstation/Sega/Atari/etc) and why ?
XBox, I just always have had one, I’ve played on all the rest of them but I just feel XBox is the better one.

Airplane, Boat, or Vehicle(motorcycles included), how would you travel and to where ?
It would be nice to have like a private jet, probably just to travel anywhere, if I’m out of town somewhere, I could just fly in from anywhere, visit friends and family, whatever I wanted to.

Name one thing in life(NOT SPORTS RELATED) you would like to achieve:
Keep my grades up, I’d like to be a gym teacher, or go to school for Physical Therapy.

Location you think would be the best place to live(ie: island, mountains, city, etc) ? Explain why:
I’d probably have to say somewhere nice in the Suburban area near a city.
