LET’S GET TO KNOW DEMIR

Why do you play football?

I play football in hopes to create my own unique opportunity to go to school fully paid for not only because of my academic achievements but also for my athletic ability. Then to go on to play at the college level a place where many people have told me is unattainable for someone like me , and dominate!

It’s gameday! What are you looking forward to the most?

I look forward to exiting the locker room as a unit with my team ,while hearing the crowd cheering , and absorbing the atmosphere’s energy knowing i’m gonna go as hard as I can to bring home the win !

Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?

Jaylin Hyatt , mostly because we share the same number , but also because he dominated the SEC and now being drafted to the Giants they still doubt him and have stuff to say about him, but he ignores all the negative and continues to play his own game and he will show everyone this season what he’s about.

Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:

The First 3 or 4 plays of Perry vs Brashear , I was up against arguably the best rb in the city league and i was able to tackle him multiple times at the start of the game. I Remember hearing the announcers say my name incorrectly each time and people telling me after the game “they just kept saying your name wrong”. This game was my first ever win as a football player it has stuck with me.

What was last years season like for you?

It was my first year ever playing football , so it was definitely a challenge for me as a first year player and starter. But as a new player in a new re-established team overcoming adversity was something I knew I had to do going into the season. I think I had a pretty good season overall , still much work to do and looking forward to my senior season!

What are your goals for this coming season?

My goals for this season are 3-5 TD’s, 500+ Receiving Yards, 5 Sacks , 10+ TFL, 2+ INTs, Too Many Tackles To Count , All-City LB, City League Championship, and the end goal a State Championship.

What stadium, HS/college/pro would you love to visit for a game?

The University Of Tennesee

What is your favorite Pro team, any sport?

Buffalo Bills

What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?

Alabama vs Tennessee 2022 , because seeing 2 powerhouse teams go back and forth like that, each team playing their hardest every drive was very nice to watch. I was on my toes at the end when Alabama’s kicker missed the field goal to win , while Tennessee’s Kicker was successful and they won 52-49. I still think about what overtime would have been like in that game.

What sports movie would you watch every day if you had to pick one and why?

Facing The Giants , because the team in the movie reminds me a lot of Perry. The hard work and effort they showed in the movie and what was produced because of it reminds me of what we are striving for and what could come.

If your mom and dad are screaming at you from the stands, what is it they usually yell?

I can’t say i hear my mom in the stands when i’m in the game , because i’m focused on the opponent in front of me , but her presence is enough for me. Knowing she’s in crowd I imagine she’s saying “Goo Demirrr” and it motivates me to the fullest!

Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?

Throw a fade ball to the back of the end zone.

Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?

Robert Howard , because of how knowledgeable he is in so many aspects especially financially is inspirational. And him coming from where he came from to where he is now let me know just how important and beneficial being educated is, and what it can do for you in the long run.

Name a sport you’d love to play but can’t:

Trampoline Basketball

What is your most embarrassing sports moment?

I hit the top of the backboard in my first 7th grade basketball in front of my mom .

When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?

I like to watch anime , because I enjoy watching these characters complex stories unfold while laying in my bed.

What is your favorite football memory to date?

My first reception

What is your favorite play to run?

On defense any play that allows me to blitz , on offense smash.

What scares you the most?

Losing my mom

Music of choice:

Rap

What was your favorite gift as a little boy? Why?

What restaurant is your go to when you need a big meal?

What is your favorite vacation destination?
