The PIAA released their initial enrollment numbers for the 2024-2026 seasons and there is a lot of movement. Of course this is all preliminary. Voluntary and success formulas aren’t in yet.
In District 1, a notable is Plymouth-Whitemarsh moving to 6A. District 3 has Waynesboro moving to 6A. Woodland Hills moves to 6A. PCC has a 5A enrollment but will likely stay 6A. In D11 Pocono Mountain West jumps to 6A.
In 5A, the biggest shift we see is Mifflin County moving to 5 leaving D6 with just two 6A teams. Also noted is Cathedral Prep dropping to 3A.
4A: Belle Vernon and West Mifflin. 3A: Central Valley, North Catholic.
Milton drops to 3A in D4. And in 2A, Southern Columbia stays in 2A
Again, these are all preliminary. Final numbers will be out in a couple weeks. The deadline for teams to voluntarily play up is Friday, Dec. 1.
