At PAFootballnews.com one of our main priorities has always been promoting the well being of student athletes on or off the field. Today we’d like to announce our new partnership with SAFR Sports.

About SAFR Sports:

Safr has created a helmet cover that is NFHS approved

The SAFR Helmet Cover attaches to most football helmets, including the latest Riddell and Schutt products. It is made from polyurethane foam that absorbs and dissipates the energy caused by hits. It acts much like an airbag, delaying the timing of the impact. It is streamlined, can be customized to your team colors and worn in games.

  • Adding a SAFR Helmet Cover to a 5-Star helmet provides up to 77% reduction in risk of concussion.*
  • Wearing a SAFR Helmet Cover adds more protection, particularly to both the back and side of the head — two of the most common locations for head injury.
  • SAFR Helmet Covers become even more important for the harder hits, where concussive impacts were reduced by up to 72%.**

Making Athletes “Safer Through Science”

Every year there are more than 3.8 million sports-related concussions in the United States. Most of these injuries occur in young athletes whose developing brains are especially susceptible to concussive blows.
SAFR Sports is dedicated to providing a safer environment for all participants in contact sports through our patented Scientifically Advanced Force Reduction technology.
Our products are designed and scientifically evaluated to help prevent sports related concussions, and the long-term consequences of repeated head impacts.

The Mission is Our Motive

SAFR Sports is a safety innovation company dedicated to providing a safer environment for all participants in contact sports through our patented Scientifically Advanced Force Reduction technology.

PFN got to see the helmet covers in action recently at the Philladelphia City All-Star game. I was impressed. You really couldn’t tell the helmets had covers and throughout the entire game I only saw one of the covers come off the helmet during play.  I spoke with Co-Founder, President and CEO John Zeglinski and Co-Founder, Vice President, Chairman of the Board Carlos Bradley at halftime of the game:
