Let the Guessing Begin!
Only a few hours until week zero of the 2023 Pennsylvania high school football season begins, still do not understand how the first week of the season is week zero. That means is time for Season II of the PaFootballnews.com ProTime’s Pick’em Challenge. Thirteen of PFN’s top savants have entered this year’s challenge, unfortunately for the other twelve prognosticators, the man the myth the legend Protime himself is back with his masterful picks. Last year after week three or two, depending on how you count week one errr zero, took the lead and ran away with the Title. This week’s contests much like PFN’s game coverage stretches form Beaver Falls to Bucks County, featuring ten of the top games in the state.
This week many of the guessers, I mean high school football experts, agree on the expected outcome of many of the games. The PFN crew thinks the Minersville at Tri-Valley and the Wilson West Lawn @ Roman Catholic games will be the games that will be the most competitive, with the picks pretty evenly split between the squads. One of the more interesting tilts is two-time defending District 1 champions Garnet Valley traveling to Central Bucks West, the team Garnet Valley defeated in last year’s D1 final. Interestingly, this is the first game of this year’s challenge and it puts our returning champion at odds with the Bossman, with Protime selecting the Jaguars to continue their winning ways and Billy picking the Bucks of CBW. I think Protime may be in trouble with this pick, I picked the Jags to come out on top, which is usually the kiss of death.
Tuesday we will have a recap of all of this weekend’s action, along with the opening standings of this year’s challenge. Make your own picks and follow us as we march to the state championship games in December.
