Bishop Canevin’s Minikon Johnson announced his D1 commitment to West Virginia June 24 on X (formerly known as Twitter). As a 6-foot-2, 205-pound outside linebacker, Johnson drew the attention of other colleges, including offers from Akron and Kent State. His West Virginia commitment came just 11 days after announcing the offer on his social media. The class of 2027 recruit is the second for the Mountaineers, alongside another WPIAL recruit, Armand Hill.
