In a year where a District 2 team went undefeated and ended up as State Runner-Up (Dallas), it is no surprise that quite a few standout players from both the Wyoming Valley Conference and the Lackawanna Conference made the 2023 PFN Coaches-Select Class 4A All-State Football Team.  The Wyoming Area Warriors placed 3 on the 1st team and 4 players overall, with the Dallas Mountaineers placing 4 on the 2nd team and North Pocono with 1 on the 2nd team.

For the Warriors, it is none other than #5 Senior RB Aaron Crossley garnering 1st team honors.  Crossley, who will continue his playing career at Lehigh, ran for 1842 yards and 26 TD’s on the season.

Joining Crossley on the 1st team for the Warriors is #21 Sophomore TE Josh Mruk, who had 219 receiving yards and 4 TD’s on the season but was a key contributor in blocking as well.

Also making the 1st team for Wyoming Area is #44 Senior Long-Snapper Luke Barhight, a key special teams player for the Warriors.

Making the 2nd team for Wyoming Area is #57 Junior OT Chase Desanto, an important contributor in blocking for the Warriors.

For the Mountaineers, #4 Junior RB Dylan Geskey makes the 2nd team.  Geskey ran for 1529 yards and 28 TD’s and was a key contributor during the Mounts deep playoff run this season.

Also on the 2nd team for Dallas is #3 Senior WR Zach Paczewski.  A team leader and Radford commit to play baseball, Paczewski had 1325 all-purpose yards and accounted for 14 total TD’s for Dallas this season.

On defense, the Mountaineers place #85 Senior OLB Nick Farrell on the 2nd team.  Farrell, who was a key target in the passing attack for Dallas as well, got better as the year went along on defense and especially during the playoff run for the Mounts.

Joining Farrell on the 2nd team defense is #19 Junior S Nate Malarkey, who along with excellent play in the secondary also made several huge plays on special teams including a blocked punt for a TD against Bishop McDevitt.

From the Lackawanna Conference, North Pocono’s #9 Senior K Brady Mapes makes the 2nd team as well.  Mapes was clutch all year, hitting 10 filed goals and helping the Trojans make the District 2 playoffs.

Congrats to all the District 2 teams who represent the All-State team!
