A normal District 2/District 11 crossover game turned into a wild one featuring 5 3rd quarter TD’s and when the dust settled it was the Wilkes-Barre Wolfpack emerging victorious in an overtime thriller 48-42.
Stroudsburg QB Jack Mitchell had 1 rushing TD and threw 2 more to WR Essam Alrefai and 1 to TE Keegan Munch. Wilkes-Barre QB Jake Howe also had 1 rushing TD and threw 2 more to RB Davon Underwood, who also scored 2 rushing TD’s as well including the OT game winner. Mountaineer RB Keyen Johnson added a rushing TD as did Wolfpack WR Kevon Creech.
Neither defense played particularly well but the Wolfpack defense got it done when it really mattered, stopping Mitchell on a 4th-and-goal from inside the 10 yard line that ultimately led to Underwood’s game winner on the ensuing drive.
Both teams now stand at 1-1, and Stroudsburg heads home to face Bethlehem Liberty while Wilkes-Barre heads up to play 2-0 Valley View.
