Dallas overcame an early 13-point deficit to take a 14-13 lead, but a wild 2nd quarter ended with the Comets taking a lead they would not relinquish as Abington Heights defeated Dallas 40-28.  Comet QB Nick Bradley threw for 2 scores and ran in another, and Comet RB Jayden Anglin had a rushing TD and an interception return for a score.  The “Geskey Connection” of QB Talyn to WR Logan resulted in 2 Dallas TD’s including a big 70-yard catch and run that brought the Mountaineers within 5 points late in the 3rd quarter.

The Comets scored on their first possession when RB Jarden Anglin ran it in from 14 yards out, and on the first play of the ensuing possession for Dallas it was a pick-6 by Comet DL Thomas Reese that gave Abington Heights a quick 13-0 lead.  Dallas answered quickly however, on a WR Logan Geskey TD run and the first of two “Geskey connection” TD’s that gave Dallas a 14-13 lead to end the 1st quarter.

In the 2nd quarter, the Comets scored early when Bradley hit Rodman Azar for a score, and on the ensuing drive it was Angling getting a pick-6 to put Abington Heights up 26-14.  Dallas responded on the ensuing kickoff when Mountaineer DB Tyce Mason ran the kick all the way back for a score to make it 26-21.  Abington then had a quick drive to get into scoring range, and Bradley hit Noah Kayal on an 11-yard strike to extend the Comets lead 33-21 at halftime.

Another “Geskey connection”, this one a big 70-yard catch-and-run for the score drew Dallas closer at 33-28.  But from there Abington Heights moved very deliberately down the field, and the drive was capped when Bradley ran it in for 3 yards out to extend the Comet lead at 40-28.  Dallas had one more chance as they drove inside the Comet 15 but the drive stalled and Abington Heights kneeled it out for the win.

Dallas will look to get into the win column as they head on the road again to face a tough Wilkes-Barre team, while Abington Heights will welcome Valley View to town next Friday.
