District 2 landed 3 standout players on the PA Football Writers’ Class 3A All-State team. Berwick had 2 honorees with RB Ty’Meere Wilkerson and OL Matt Gordner, and QB Will McPartland made the squad for District 2 champion Scranton Prep.
The Bulldogs are back! Berwick went 11-1 on the year and a big reason for their resurgence was RB Ty’Meere Wilkerson. He had an electric season as he rushed for 2,845 yards with 40 rushing TD’s. Both of those statistics are now Berwick records, as is Wilkerson’s 390 yards rushing in a single game October 10th against Williamsport. This guy can do it all, and he even is a District Champ in Track & Field as he earned gold in the 100m dash and the Long Jump. As a New Hampshire commit, the Wildcats are getting a true game-changer in Wilkerson. Congrats on a terrific season, Ty!

One of the reasons for Wilkerson’s great season was standout OL Matt Gordner, also named to the All-State squad. Gordner, at 6-0 and 275 lbs, had a remarkable season as he anchored the stout Offensive line for the Bulldogs. A 2-way player who found great success on the defensive side as well, Gordner was often double-teamed and stood his ground which was a big reason the Bulldog defense had success in the opposing backfield all season. But his biggest accomplishment was leading a strong blocking scheme for Wilkerson, enabling he and the Bulldogs to have an historic season. Great work Matt, and congrats on a great season!
As for the Cavaliers, there may not be a better 2-way player in District 2 than Will McPartland has been the past 2 seasons. When you consider that he missed the first 3 games this season due to injury, his season stats are even more impressive. This year, McPartland had 877 rushing yards with 26 rushing TD’s and threw for 1,521 yards and 11 passing TD’s. His accomplishments on the defensive side of the ball have been very impressive for the last 3 seasons, but over the past 2 seasons his offensive contributions have been phenomenal. As with many on these lists, McPartland is also a 2-sport athlete as he also excels in Lacrosse. Congrats on a terrific season, Will!
