District 12 Champion Belmont Charter (10-1) 2025 SCHEDULE
vs.
District 6 Champion Bishop Guilfoyle (12-2) 2025 SCHEDULE
How they got here:
Belmont Charter defeated Lackawanna Trail in a wild 52-40 shootout
Bishop Guilfoyle scored on their first drive and held on as they defeated Westinghouse 7-6
A look at the Belmont Charter Tigers:
Head Coach Terrell Brent brought the Tigers up to Northern Lehigh last week, and they put on a show against Lackawanna Trail in a wild 52-40 win. Freshman QB Nafis Watkins went 15 for 20 for 267 yards and 5 scores, with 3 TD’s going to WR Tahir Tucker. RB Shyneem Newsuan added 13 carries for 184 yards and 3 TD’s. Up front, Mason Walker anchors the line along with Tymir Seamon and Anthony Gillison. The Tigers play an up-tempo offense and use their athleticism and speed to spread the field.
A look at the Bishop Guilfoyle Marauders:
State playoffs are nothing new for Head Coach Justin Wheeler, and he’s got the defending state champion Marauders right on the doorstep of another chance to play for a state title. Guilfoyle found themselves in a struggle last week against Westinghouse, another very athletic squad, so this game may very well come down to the defense. QB Justin Wheeler leads the offense and has thrown for over 1,300 yards this season, and is a very dangerous kick returner. RB Jake Kissel has over 1,400 yards on the ground and 30 TD’s, and the leading receiver is WR Tyson Lestochi with almost 900 yards. Watch out also for Freshman RB Keegan Hewitt who has come on strong lately for the Marauders. Overall, the line is stout on both sides of the ball. OL/DE Declan Peterson made a huge play last week as he forced a fumble at the 1-yard line to prevent a score. DL Rocco Cacciotti is averaging just over 9 tackles per game.
