Lakeland Senior QB David Naniewicz has been named to the PA Writers’ Class 2A All-State under the “Athlete” designation, and with good reason: he’s a great athlete.
The 6-3 215lb signal-caller led a Lakeland resurgence which saw the return of the Chiefs that we all knew was coming. Lakeland went 11-2 on the season and won the District 2 Class 2A championship. For his part, Naniewicz ran for 952 yards and 14 rushing TD’s and passed for 1,750 yards and 16 passing TD’s. His contributions on defense were just as impressive as he played on the defensive line and at linebacker and was a stout defender.

His greatest accomplishment, however, may be his leadership. Lakeland has been rebuilding for the last several years, and Naniewicz was a 3-year starter at QB. His leadership during some times of growth certainly helped lead Lakeland to where they now are, on an upward trajectory and destined for more strong seasons ahead as a new group of Chiefs take the helm.
Congrats David, on a terrific season and great high school career!
