Gibsonia, PA — Class 5A No. 1 Pine-Richland took command early in its home opener Friday night, rolling to a dominant 49–20 victory over Class 6A Seneca Valley. Quarterback Aaron Strader powered the Rams’ explosive offensive performance, tossing five touchdown passes. Despite Seneca Valley having won two of the last three meetings against Pine-Richland, the Rams came out strong and decisively took control.
Aided by Pine-Richland penalties, Seneca Valley senior Max Eisenhut drilled a 41-yard field goal on the Raiders’ opening possession. The Rams quickly responded, as senior running back Mac Miller broke free for a 47-yard touchdown run with 6:53 left in the first quarter. Pine-Richland struck again on its next drive, scoring on the final play of the quarter when Strader connected with Jay Timmons for a 22-yard touchdown, extending the lead to 14–3.
Strader connected with Jalen Neals for a 5-yard touchdown, extending Pine-Richland’s lead to 21–3 with 8:09 remaining in the half. Seneca Valley briefly closed the gap with a 7-yard touchdown run by senior Cayden Parker. But Strader continued his aerial assault by teaming up again with Timmons for two more scores, sandwiched around a 46-yard field goal by Seneca Valley’s Max Eisenhut. The second, a 16-yard strike just before halftime, gave Pine-Richland a commanding 35–13 lead at the break.
Strader later found Khalil Taylor for a 20-yard score, and the defense got in on the action when Colton Andrighetti returned an interception 79 yards for a touchdown, stretching the lead to 49–13.
Seneca Valley added a late touchdown in the fourth quarter on a 56-yard pass from Andrew Loebig to Danny Drennan, but the outcome was already decided.
With the win, Pine-Richland reminded everyone why it remains the favorite in 5A, showing balance, depth, and explosiveness on both sides of the ball.
The Rams (2–1) open conference play next week on the road at North Hills, while Seneca Valley (1–2) will look to regroup at home against Norwin.
