Parkland Trojans

(12-0) (9-0 EPC)

Head Football Coach: Tim Moncman

About the Trojans:

Parkland, ranked 7th in the 6A PAfootball News rankings,  went wire to wire this season as the top team in the EPC with their only scare coming week 3 against Nazareth.  Their 31-24 victory was their only single score victory during the regular season.  After having their starting QB Luke Spang injured during last week’s semi-final game vs Emmaus, they will most likely need to look to their other offensive leader, Trey Tremba, to shoulder the load and lead this offense and Parkland team to their 11th District Title.

Who to watch:

Luke Spang 122-183, 1,853 yards, 23 TD, 8 INT

Trey Tremba 196 attempts, 1,734 yards, 24 TD

Connor Johns 35 rec, 638 yards, 10 TD

Jendel Sanchez 23 rec, 384 yards, 4 TD

Jake Beidleman 9 sacks, 42 tackles, 1 FR

Nazareth Blue Eagles

(11-1)(7-1 EPC)

Head Football Coach: Tom Falzone

About the Blue Eagles:

The Blue Eagles, currently ranked 9th in the 6A PAFootball News rankings, spent the entire regular season racking up convincing victories and staying near the top of the rankings in the EPC, the only team in their way, Parkland.  This Friday night they will have a chance to exact revenge for their only loss on the season, a 24-31 loss to the Trojans in week 3 and attempt to claim their 6th District 11 title.  Nazareth is fresh off a 21-7 victory over Northampton in the semi-final of the D11 6A playoffs last week.  If any team in District 11 has what it takes to knock Parkland out of the playoffs, it’s these Blue Eagles of Nazareth.

Who to watch:

Peyton Falzone 144-232, 2,191 yards, 17 TD, 2 INT

Jed Bendekovits 145 attempts, 927 yards, 14 TD

Marquez Wimberly 100 attempts, 604 yards, 10 TD

Mason Kuehner 63 rec, 979 yards, 8 TD

Caleb Newsome 30 rec, 564 yards, 8 TD

Logan Hilarczyk 27 rec, 347 yards, 2 TD

How the Blue Eagles got here:

vs. Bethlehem Freedom Division Game / League Game W, 42-26
@ Parkland Division Game / League Game L, 24-31

vs. Allentown Central Catholic Division Game / League Game W, 14-7
@ Whitehall Division Game / League Game W, 41-17
vs. Pleasant Valley League Game W, 56-0
vs. Bethlehem Catholic Division Game / League Game W, 17-14
vs. Easton Division Game / League Game W, 40-0
vs. Wilkes-Barre Playoff Game W, 42-6
vs. Northampton Nazareth
Playoff Game
W, 21-7

What to look for:

Look for Nazareth to receive a heavy dose of the Tremba and the Trojan running attack, especially with the injury to Spang.  Look for Nazareth and Falzone to try to spread out the Parkland defense and get the ball to their playmakers in space.  Will the Blue eagle offensive line be able to give Falzone enough time to find his talented receivers downfield or open up holes for their running backs vs this staunch Trojan defense?  At the end of the day, this game will come down to the trenches and if the offensive lines can open holes for their ball carriers or keep the pressure off their quarterbacks.  I expect another closely contested battle.
