Joe VilRid ties ProTime Phil for Weekly Honors
In the year of our Lord 2024 there are certainties that should never be questioned: The Sun rises in the East, taxes go up, politicians lie, Bossman Billy fades at the end, and ProTime Phil wins! The OG ProTime Phil once again has won the regular season title of ProTime’s Pick’em Challenge……yawn! With five weeks to go it looked like Matt or the Wizard of the SOL Mayhem were going to finally take away one of Phil’s crown. Then Protime Phil kicked it in to assassin mode, winning outright or tying for the lead the final four weeks to capture his third consecutive Challenge regular season title. After a 15-5-week Phil ended up with a regular season record of 152-48, a 76% winning percentage! Matt secured second place with a 12-8-week, trailing Phil by a mere 4 wins with a 148-52 record. The Wizard of the SOL, Mayhem, had a 14-win week to finish in third just a single correct guess behind Matt with a 147-win regular season.
Fading down the stretch like an Earl Shibe paint job were Billy the Bossman, able only to come up with a 50/50 week at 10-10 and the King of DELCO Willie had a disastrous 9-11 week, the only losing week for the PROS! Tristan was so so close to climbing out of the basement, but in the end, he ended up the cellar dweller for the regular season with a 116-84 record, just bad enough to finish behind NEPA who had a 117-83 tally.
Congratulations to Joe VilRid who went 15-5 this week to tie the master ProTime Phil for the weekly title. While equaling Phil is certainly a great achievement, it ain’t a win!
The second half of the ProTime Pick’em Challenge begins this week with the playoffs kicking off. It looks like a three-horse race between the ProTime, Matt and Mayhem. My pick is Mayhem to overtake ProTime Phil for a massive upset and take home the title for the year. Of course, if you follow my weekly pick, my predictions aren’t usually the best.
