CAN THE JOES PULL OFF A TURKEY ON THANKSGIVING
With only two weeks to go in ProTime’s Pick’em Challenge the outcome of the season long contest is not in doubt, the OG Protime Phil is on his way to a three peat. His six game lead over Matt is almost unsurmountable, even my declaration that Phil will win the tournament once again cannot Mush the all-time great Protime Phil……..or can it? The real suspense of this week is if Joe JWJST1 can pull off the turkey by defeating the Pro panel three weeks in a row? Until two weeks ago no Joe has ever bested the entire Pro panel, JWJST1 achieved the first win for the Joes, then backed it up with a win last week, if he can do it a third straight week we might have to reevaluate who the real Pro is at picking games. Almost as shocking as the Pros being whipped two weeks in a row is the rise of Tristin’s guessing abilities. Back-to-back weeks Tristin has tied for the lead in the Pro category. He has climbed a couple steps up the basement stairs, for the first time in a couple of months he actually can dream of getting out of the basement.
This week to keep the contest at twenty games on the docket we have added Thanksgiving Day games. I realize yinzer don’t have Thanksgiving Day games, but in the eastern part of the Commonwealth Thanksgiving Day high school football goes back over 100 years. The first Central vs Northeast Thanksgiving Day game dates back to 1892, Easton and Phillipsburg will be playing their 117th Thanksgiving Day game, they started playing on Thanksgiving in 1905. In years past Easton has played their Thanksgiving Day game, then turned around two days later and played a state playoff game.
