Week 3 Brings Some Big Time Matchups

Week three of PFN’s ProTime Pick’em Challenge will feature early season match ups match up that will have playoff implications in November. Harrisburg High will travel down to Lancaster County to take on Manheim Township, both teams are off to quick starts at 2-0, with convincing lopsided wins. Interestingly the panel is leaning heavily towards Harrisburg, with 13 members of the panel picking the Cougars while yours truly selecting Township.  Central Bucks East will travel to Souderton, in a battle of 2-0 Suburban One League schools. Southern Columbia will take on Loyalsock, last year Loyalsock shocked the world and the august panel by taking down SoCo. Last year’s panel went 0-13, with everyone picking SoCo, surely the expert prognosticators would not be fooled again. INCORRECT only two of the panel, Tristan and Mason, have picked Loyalsock to go back-to-back, the other 12 members are back on the SoCo train.

Jersey Shore takes on Selinsgrove, a battle of two of the mid-states premier programs. The other games featured stretch the length and breadth of the Commonwealth, with a heavy emphasis on Western Pennsylvania. This is the last week of a large amount of non-league game, next week almost every team will be in their league schedule. Due to the excessive heat forecasted for Friday all Philadelphia Public League games are cancelled, remember when being from Philly meant you were a tough working class guy. Philly pols are just SOFT, I feel bad for the kids who have busted their ass all summer, just to have a game cancelled because it’s too hot, again …….soft!

Will this be the week that someone’s lucky darts select a gaggle of winners separating them from the rest of the panel? Can Protime Phil, match or better his ridiculous 11/12 week last week? We will know Saturday night! Follow your favorite writer and/or make your own selections to see how you stack up against the best team of high school football writers in the country.
