Wyoming Area played well enough in the 1st half to keep the game close, then dominated the 2nd half with their defense to pull away in a 28-0 shutout at Lake-Lehman. WR Nick Ciampi scored on 2 TD runs, with WR Luke Kopetchny adding another.
After a scoreless 1st quarter and several stalled drives, the Warriors finally capitalized late in the 1st half when WR Luke Kopetchny scored on a 1-yard wildcat run off the left side to make it 7-0 Wyoming Area with only seconds left in the 2nd quarter.
In the 3rd quarter, the Wyoming Area run defense began to dominate the line of scrimmage and stopped the Lake-Lehman running attack. After a 4th down stop of the Black Knights, Wyoming Area had a nice drive that was capped when QB Jack Gravine hit TE Josh Mruk for a 4-yard TD that made it 14-0 Warriors with 6:12 left in the 3rd quarter. After another defensive stop, Warrior WR Nick Ciampi hit paydirt on an 11-yard run and it was 21-0 Warriors with 10:56 left in the 4th quarter.
The Black Knights got an interception in the end zone by DB Jake Evans, but the ensuing drive by the Lehman offense was stuffed by the Warrior defense again. On the ensuing offensive possession it was Ciampi scoring again from 7 yards out to make it 28-0 Wyoming Area, which is how this one ended.
Wyoming Area improved to 8-1 and will head on the road to play Nanticoke. Lake-Lehman fell to 4-4 and will look to get back in the win column at home against Hanover Area.
