Wyoming Valley Conference Media Day was held on Thursday, August 10th at Wilkes-Barre Area High School.  Coaches and players from 13 schools in the conference were on hand to meet with members of the local media outlets, and the common theme that was heard?

Togetherness.

As several of the attending teams have had to overcome loss of starters due to graduation, the common theme rang true again and again:  Togetherness.  Crestwood QB Jaden Shedlock, now a sophomore after leading the Comets deep into the State playoffs as a Freshman last season, spoke about the challenge of graduating some key teammates prior to this season:
“It’s a challenge definitely, but I feel like our younger guys have started to step up.  We’re bringing it all together, working together, like a family.”

Wyoming Area RB Aaron Crossley, a senior who has verbally committed to Lehigh University, has experienced some turnover during his time with the Warriors, and he spoke similarly about changes:
“We are definitely working together, young guys are stepping up into roles and some of us who have been here a while are adding leadership too.  We’re a family more than a team.”

Senior WR/DB Jovan Goodwin of Wilkes-Barre Area said about this fall:
“We are ready for this season. There has been growth as a team and individually as players.”

Senior Zander Coleman, a RB/LB for the Hazleton Area Cougars gave this outlook:
“We lost some guys due to graduation, but have plenty of guys looking to step up who have experience.  We will be ready, together as a team.”

The season kicks off Friday night August 25th.  Best of luck to all the WVC teams!
