What does your offense need to improve on from last year?
Our offense needs to improve upon consistency in both the run and pass games for four entire quarters. We need to limit the three-and-out drives. With 9 out of 11 starters returning, our offense plans on maintaining an experienced run and pass game.
What does your defense need to improve on from last year
Our defense needs to find its identity early and attack for four quarters every single week. This year’s defense features several players with game experience which needs to translate to playing smart, fast and physical. Again, 9 out of 11 starters return on defense, and depth has been built throughout the off-season and from valuable game experience from underclassman last season.
What are your overall thoughts on this years team?
This year’s team will rely on many seniors that have started on both offense and defense since their sophomore seasons. Many underclassmen gained game experience last season, and will be called upon this season to provide depth at all positions.
The keys on special teams will be to execute in all areas of the game. With special teams being a third of the game, emphasis has been placed on the return, blocking, punting, and kicking game for this upcoming season.
