The Game:
Pennsbury Falcons @ Pennridge Rams
Friday, September 13, 2024
Kickoff: 7 pm
Helman Field
1228 N. Fifth Street, Perkasie, PA 18944
Team Details:
Head Coach: Galen Snyder (17th Season (2002-2016, 2022-Present)
League: Suburban One League-National Conference (6A)
Season Record: (2-1) overall (0-0) Conference
Last Week: Won 23-15 over Council Rock South
Falcon Notables: After three weeks, the Falcons are 2-1 with wins against Quakertown (17-7) and Council Rock South (23-15). Their lone loss came against District XI power Northampton (24-2). Offensively the Falcons have leaned heavily on junior running back Jordan Brensinger who has rushed for over 100 yards in three straight contests. Last week against Council Rock South he rushed 20 times for 148 yards in the victory. On the defensive side of the ball, Walker Murray has over 30 total tackles and continues to be dominant in the middle where he has been since last season when he transitioned to the position out of necessity. Unfortunately, Coach Snyder was unavailable for my interview and unable to nominate a student-athlete to represent his team in my preview and GameDay edit so I selected senior linebacker Walker Murray who is not only elite on the field but in the classroom as well. I was able to get ahold of Walker earlier today to ask some quick questions in between his busy schedule.
Coach Mayhem: “You guys head into your conference schedule after going 2-1, what’s your confidence level, and are there things you think your team needs to work on?”
Walker: “My confidence level has never been higher at this point in the season. I feel we are molding together perfectly on all sides of the ball. I feel very confident in our offensive line as they keep fine tuning as well as our back field. As for our defense I believe we are an amazing unit, the chemistry is high level.”
Coach Mayhem: “Last season you guys lost a tough one 15-14 to the Rams, what can the fans expect out of you and your team tomorrow night?”
Walker: “Fans can expect a win, we are going out there for no other reason than to win tomorrow night. Last year’s team and last year’s game against Pennridge has nothing to do with what we have going on this season. We are a different unit than what we were last year.”
Coach Mayhem: “Do you have a pregame ritual/routine and if so what is it?”
Walker: “My pregame routine is first and most importantly I say a prayer. This is for my safety and the safety of the team. Second I usually keep to myself and visualize the plays that I am going to make. I set goals and make mental notes in my head on what needs to be done and I replay what I have seen in film in my head. Once on the field, a switch is flipped and I’m loud and enthusiastic, getting the team fired up.”

Head Coach: Kyle Beller (2nd Season)
League: Suburban One League-National Conference (6A)
Season Record: (2-1) overall (0-0) Conference
Last Week: Won 19-0 over Harry S. Truman
Ram Notables: The Rams won 3 games all of last season. They can already tie that record from a season ago in week 4 against Pennsbury, a team they knocked off last season 15-14 in a thriller. This week’s matchup is giving off similar vibes. The Rams have 13 starters returning (Off. -8 Def.-5) so we can expect some sound things from this squad. The offensive attack is led by Junior quarterback Noah Keating who is in his third season (2nd Full) under center. He’s completed 70% of his passes for 469 yards and 5 touchdowns. He’s also rushed for 1 score. The wide receivers are flanked by Senior duo Zach Swanson (4-172-3 TDs) & Chase Marshall (10-102-1 TD). Junior running backs Ryan Rowe (45-205-3TDs) & William Dougherty (39-147-2) have combined for 352 yards & 5 TDs. On the defensive side of the ball senior linebacker Trevor Fuhs leads the team with 25 total tackles & 3 tackles for loss. Junior Ryan Rowe is second with 20 total tackles & 1 tackle for loss. Senior defensive back Chase Marshall leads the secondary with 2 interceptions. I caught up with head coach Kyle Beller to talk a little ball and this is what the head ball coach had to say.
Coach Mayhem: “Your team went 2-1 in your non-league schedule; can you speak on how you feel your team performed over the last 3 weeks and what can the fans expect Friday night at Helman field when your squad takes on conference foe Pennsbury?”
Coach Beller: “We have gotten better each and every week as a team during our non-league schedule after a rocky start in week 1. In our win week 2, our offense was in the spotlight with a big performance. Likewise in week 3, our defense was in the spotlight with the shutout win. Our fans can expect a team that is ready to compete and show that they belong against a formidable opponent in Pennsbury and the rest of the SOL national conference.”
Coach Mayhem: “Who would you nominate as my featured student-athlete on my upcoming Gameday Edit and preview?”
Coach Beller: “The student-athlete we would like to nominate is Senior LB/TE Trevor Fuhs. Trevor is in his 2nd year as a captain for us and 4th season overall starting games at LB. Trevor is relentless in his pursuit to be a better football player, leader, and person. He is always willing to step up and do what it takes in order for us as a team to be successful.”
As always, I then reached out to Trevor so we could chit-chat about the past few weeks and the upcoming “Gold Out”.
Coach Mayhem: “You guys enter your conference schedule 2-1, with some momentum after getting the goose egg against Truman 19-0, how are you guys preparing for a much tougher task this week against Pennsbury?”
Trevor: “We are working harder every day to achieve our goals for this season. We know it’s going to be a very physical game on Friday, so we are prepping our bodies as well. And the usual watching film, going over plays, and fine-tuning.”
Coach Mayhem: “Alright so this is a two-part question. What can the fans expect on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball come Friday night when you host Pennsbury?”
Trevor: “Offensively, the fans can expect points on the board, explosive plays, and a unit that executes. We weren’t satisfied with our offense last week, so we got a chip on our shoulder coming in this Friday. Defensively, the fans can expect a physical, loud, and confident defense. Who’s ready to come in and defend our house with pride?”
Coach Mayhem: “I see this week’s student section theme is GOLD OUT, what is that all about?”
Trevor: “The GOLD OUT is an annual event held by Pennridge High School over the last 17 years. Pennridge Mini-Thon is raising money to fight childhood cancer. The goal is $40,000.”
Coach Mayhem: “That’s a great cause. I’m going to be buying a shirt for the game. Okay, Last question before you go, do you have a pre-game routine and if so, what is it?
Trevor: “I do, my pre-game routine is simple, I like to get a quick nap in after school, listen to music in the locker room through my headphones, and most of all pray over the game. Without God I’m nothing so I look to thank him at every opportunity I get.”
