In a matchup of two unbeaten teams, the Tigers made a statement on Friday night with a commanding 56–13 victory over the Spartans. Behind a relentless rushing attack, opportunistic defense, and big plays from multiple contributors, the Tigers took control early. They never looked back, moving to 4–0 on the season while handing the Spartans their first loss.

The Spartans opened the game with possession but couldn’t take advantage, punting the ball away to the Tigers with 10:22 left in the first quarter. The Tigers followed with a similar three-and-out, giving the Spartans the ball back at the 9:25 mark.

The opening quarter turned into a field-position battle, with both sides trading punts until the Tigers finally broke through late. With just 53 seconds remaining in the first, Ben Smalley ripped off a big run to put the Tigers on the board and give them a 7–0 lead. The Spartans quickly answered before the quarter ended. On a screen pass, Aidan Stinebiser found space and raced in for the score with 12 seconds left. However, the extra point attempt sailed wide, keeping the Tigers ahead 7–6 at the end of the first quarter.

The second quarter opened with fireworks as Tigers quarterback Brady Brinkley scrambled his way down the field and into the end zone, extending the lead to 14–6 with 11:12 left in the half. The Spartans’ offensive struggles continued on the ensuing drive, as the Tigers’ defense racked up three sacks and forced another quick punt. Brinkley capitalized once again, this time powering in on a quarterback sneak for his second touchdown of the half, pushing the Tigers’ lead to 21–6 with 5:17 remaining. The Spartans couldn’t find any rhythm offensively, handing the ball back to the red-hot Tigers with 2:48 to play. From there, the Tigers methodically bled the clock before Luke Roham capped the drive with a short touchdown run at the 0:59 mark, stretching the advantage to 28–6.

The Spartans’ final possession of the half stalled, sending both teams into the locker room with the Tigers in full control, up 28–6.

The Tigers picked up right where they left off to open the second half. Luke Rohan powered through severa

l Spartan defenders for a touchdown run, stretching the lead to 35–6 with 9:51 left in the third quarter.

Looking for a spark, the Spartans instead gave the ball away, as Eli Janowiak intercepted a pass with 8:20 remaining. The Tigers couldn’t convert that turnover into points, but they didn’t have to wait long. On the very next Spartan drive, Cameron Kushner jumped a route, picked off the pass, and returned it all the way for a touchdown, pushing the score to 41–6 with 5:12 to play. The Spartans’ struggles mounted on the ensuing kickoff, when they fumbled the ball and the Tigers recovered. Capitalizing once more, Anthony Sisinni barreled into the end zone for another rushing touchdown, extending the margin to 49–6 with 3:03 left in the third. After a brief exchange of punts, the quarter came to a close with the Tigers firmly in command, holding a 49–6 lead. The Spartans finally broke through for their first points since the opening quarter, as John Michael Landa powered into the end zone on a strong run to cut the deficit to 49–13 with 11:07 remaining. 1The Tigers answered late in the quarter, with Brandon Schantz capping the night on a rushing touchdown at the 4:50 mark, stretching the lead to 56–13. That score held as the final, sealing a dominant victory for the Tigers.

With the dominant win, the Tigers improve to 4–0 on the season and will hit the road next week to face the Norwin Knights.

The Spartans, now 3–1 after their first loss of the year, will look to bounce back when they travel to take on the Central Catholic Vikings
