York Suburban defeated Northeastern 49-14 in a big win on the Trojan’s senior night. Going into the game, Northeastern (0-9) was looking to get their first win, while York Suburban (3-6) was looking to find one last win for the season.

The first quarter saw both teams battle to get down the field, but nobody could find an opening. The first quarter remained scoreless until 2:03 when Cj Rissmiller ran it in for 6, but the PAT was blocked. Then, with just 24 seconds on the clock, Cj Rissmiller intercepted a ball thrown by Notheastern’s Houston Morder and ran it back for 6 more. The Trojans tried for 2 but failed, making the score 12-0 at the end of the first quarter.

The second quarter saw Cj Rissmiller reach 1,000 yards on the season and both teams continue to fight it out. At the start of the quarter, Northeastern’s Jaedynn Foster was ejected from the game due to a flagrant unsportsmanlike penalty, and both benches got warnings. The Troajans built off this energy and Harrison Strine was able to cross the goal line, then Jackson Rudacille was able to get the 2-point conversion off of a trick play, making it 20-0.  That’s where the Trojan’s energy ran out for the half, as they allowed Northeastern’s Houston Morder to score with under 4 minutes left, making it 20-6. The Bobcats would score one more in the half, this time by Ben Mcalexander off of a one-handed catch and dive into the endzone. They would then attempt and score on a 2-point conversion, cutting York Suburban’s lead to only 6 going into the second half.

As the second half began, the Trojans looked to build off of the first half and bring back the energy. After just 2 minutes, Cj Rissmiller ran 40 yards for a touchdown, his third of the night, but the extra point was blocked. Then, 2 minutes later, York Suburban’s Taza Sweeney was able to score on the touchdown and 2-point conversion, making the score 34-14. After multipule unsportsmanlike penalties by Northeastern and no more scoring, the third quarter ended 34-14.

Going into the fourth quarter, all of the seniors on the field realized that it could be their last time playing. Josahn Harrison (Sr.) was the first to build off of that energy, putting the Trojans up 42-14. Then, just 4 minutes later York Suburban’s Brendan Greenplate (Sr. ) also found the back of the endzone to make it 49-14. Some of York Suburban’s JV players were in the game at this point, but Northeastern was still not able to make anything happen on offence.

Emotions were high at the final seconds as it was the last game for both teams. With the win, York Suburban finished the season 4-6, while Northeastern finished 0-10, not able to find success playing in the competitive YAIAA Division 1. York Suburban’s Cj Rissmiller had another outstanding game, famishing with 2 touchdowns, a pick 6, and over 1,000 yards on the season.
